City Tour

Pick up hotel, includes visit to the following attractions:
(duration approx.: 4h)

  Book by email     Book by Whatsapp

  • Teatro Amazonas - One of the most important theaters in South America and the city's main postcard, it opened in 1896 during the rubber boom to meet the Amazonian elite wishes, who envisioned a city on a par with the great cultural centers. Its neoclassical architecture and luxurious interior, adorned with materials imported from all over the world, tell the history of the region's economic golden era;
  • Largo de São Sebastião - Located on the heart of the city historic center, the square is a cultural epicenter that houses the Church of São Sebastião and the imposing Teatro Amazonas, which was the scene of its inauguration. Surrounded by trees on the sides and with a pebble floor that inspired the famous Copacabana sidewalk on Rio de Janeiro, it reflects the wealth and sophistication of the rubber era;
  • Mercado Municipal Adolpho Lisboa - Located on the banks of the Rio Negro, the Municipal Market was built in the art nouveau style in 1992 and it is a replica of the now-defunct "Les Halles" Market in Paris. A living reminder of the golden age of rubber, today it is a center of activity intensely frequented by the city population. Its stores offer a wide range of local products such as regional and indigenous handcrafts, medicinal and decorative plants, fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, and many others;
  • Porto Flutuante de Manaus - Designed by the British, the port is deeply linked to the rubber boom that took place between 1880 and 1910. It has fixed and floating quays, designed to make it perfectly operational during the Rio Negro high and low season, when the river level can fluctuate by around 14 meters. The history of the Port of Manaus is intertwined with the city history itself, which experienced major and significant transformations during this period as a result of the luxury and wealth provided by the rubber extraction, trade and export;
  • Palácio Rio Negro - Built at the beginning of the 20th century as the residence of the Rio Negro Baron, the palace witnessed the crucial moments of the rubber era, when Manaus was the region economic hub. In its richly decorated rooms, important political and social figures of the time met, reflecting the power and influence that echoed throughout the Amazon. Today, the palace is a museum that preserves artifacts and memories from that period, a symbol of Manaus' luxurious and dynamic past.

Return to the hotel, ending the tour.
