Half Day Musa - Amazon Museum
(approximate duration: 4h)
Created in January 2009, Musa occupies 100 hectares of the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve, of the National Institute of Amazonian Research, in Manaus. An area of native dryland forest, which has been studied for over 50 years. The results of this research, gathered in catalogs on topics such as plants, birds and frogs, tell what Musa wants to show visitors. At Musa, we find: exhibitions, an orchid and bromeliad nursery, a lake, aquariums and experimental laboratories for snakes, insects and butterflies. A 42-meter tower allows visitors to enjoy a magnificent view of the forest canopy, a glimpse of the Amazon. Trails in the forest provide visitors with pleasant walks and surprising discoveries. A place of culture and science, Musa conducts research in the dissemination and popularization of science and scientific and cultural education.
